2013 Aubert Carneros Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Aubert Carneros Chardonnay. A limited bottling of Carneros Chardonnay that isn't vineyard designated. Robert Parker writes of the winery: "It sounds like a broken record, but Mark Aubert is certainly one of a handful of California’s finest practitioners of Burgundy-styled, classic California Chardonnays... Mark Aubert had an impressive resumé long before he became this famous, mentored by Helen Turley when he was at Peter Michael, and from there spending impressive tenures at Colgin and Tom Futo’s winery before he went off bound for glory. I am a big buyer of these wines every year, and often serve the wines to strangers at charity events. They are consistently the favorites that people taste. All of Aubert’s wines tend to push about 15% natural alcohol as he is not shy about ripeness, but they also have great acids." (12/2015)

2012 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay (100RP, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Chardonnay Cuvée Indigène was inspired by Helen Turley in 1988. Essentially a winemaker’s barrel selection from the finest lots of the Old Wente clone, the dominate clonal component of all these single-vineyard wines, it is fermented with natural yeasts, and has always been one of Peter Michael’s finest Chardonnays. Utter perfection, the 2012 Chardonnay Cuvée Indigène (460 cases) possesses copious notes of orange marmalade, apricot, crème brûlée, honeysuckle, citrus oil and nectarines. This beautiful, seamless, exotic, full-bodied, compelling Chardonnay reveals a 45-second finish. Drink now-2025. (RP)" (12/2014)

2014 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Quilceda Creek "Palengat Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, the sensational 2014 Palengat Vineyard is loaded with notions of chocolate covered plums, licorice, roasted herbs, and graphite/lead pencil shavings. Up there with the of the top vintages of the cuvee, this full-bodied, rounded and hedonistic 2014 shines in the vintage, has no hard edges, gorgeous purity, and plenty of ripe, sweet tannin. It’s a serious mouthful of a Cabernet and will drink nicely for 10-15 years. (JD)" (06/2017)

2012 Kosta Browne "Giusti Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "Giusti Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 92ST, 92VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I believe a new vineyard, the 2012 Pinot Noir Giusti Vineyard, shares some similarities to the the Koplen Vineyard, with its intense, focused style. Showing plenty of plum, licorice, toasted spices (cinnamon) and hints of vanilla bean, this beauty flows onto the palate with no hard edges, beautiful mid-palate density and a focused, lengthy feel on the finish. Nothing is out of place here, and it's a rock-star bottle of wine that can be consumed anytime over the coming 4-6 years. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vintage, and had seamless, elegant characters. They're beautiful now, but I suspect they will evolve nicely given their overall balance. (JD)" (10/2014)

Hubert Paulet Brut Tradition Champagne
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of Hubert Paulet Brut Tradition Champagne (90JG). John Gilman: "The current release of the Cuvée Tradition from Hubert Paulet has a cépages of twenty-four percent chardonnay, twenty-seven percent pinot noir and forty-nine percent pinot meunier. The wine is very lovely on both the nose and palate and really shows its pinot meunier predominance in its great elegance on the palate and its gentle potpourri of floral tones so characteristic of this lovely grape. The bouquet is a complex mélange of white peach, bread dough, plenty of smokiness, complex soil tones and lovely, ethereal floral scents. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and still quite youthful in profile, with a lovely core, brisk acids, pinpoint bubbles and very fine length and grip on the very promising finish. While this is quite tasty today, it really deserves a bit more bottle age to really blossom from behind its structural elements, and will be even better a year or two down the road. (

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a young wine at age 12, the 2001 Insignia exhibits a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of camphor, blackberries, cassis, incense and spring flowers. 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill a Way Vineyard - Exposition Two" Sonoma Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Bedrock Wine Company "Weill a Way Vineyard - Exposition Two" Sonoma Valley Syrah (96RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The '2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition Project Trio' is three incredible wines from Sonoma County. This is Twain-Peterson’s take on the three LaLa wines from the Guigal family in Côte-Rôtie. He is emphasizing distinct clonal terroir and exposition differences as well as vinifying the wines separately. All three of the following wines were aged 36 months in 100% new French oak. The 2012 Proprietary Red Weill Vineyard Exposition 2 is 92% Syrah and 8% Viognier, 50% whole-cluster and from a southeast-facing block of the same vineyard. The Viognier was co-fermented, and this might well be Twain-Peterson’s La Turque. Notes of charcoal, burning embers, blackberry, cassis and wonderful, sweet honeysuckle are all present in this full-bodied, concentrated, impressively done wine. (RP)" (10/2015)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Melbury (a dead ringer for Pauillac) has an opaque blue/purple color and an extraordinarily sweet nose of charcoal, lead pencil shavings, cedar wood, black currants, licorice and spice box. Full-bodied, with great intensity, purity and texture, this is a wonderfully dense, full-throttle wine that is still an adolescent and likely to stay one for at least another 5-7 years. Bid on this bottle of 2012 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon - The Three Kings" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, (91-93ST), 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another killer effort is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Three Kings. It’s splitting hairs at this level of quality, but this cuvée achieved 14.8% natural alcohol compared to its siblings’ 14.9%. You certainly can’t tell that in the glass. In fact, you would be hard pressed to believe it was over 13% given the wealth of fruit and layered texture. Abundant blue and black fruit, licorice, graphite and spice notes are present in this beautiful Pauillac-like Napa Valley wine. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made by Christophe as a tribute to Côte Rôtie and coming from a blend of estate vineyards, the 2012 Syrah Wallah Wallah #4 Special spent 22 months in older puncheons and neutral smaller barrels before being bottled only in Magnum, of which there’s only 2,500 to go around. Hitting 13.6% natural alcohol, its deep ruby, semi-opaque color is followed by fabulous notes of rose petals, incense, violets, leather and sweet raspberry. These flow seamlessly to a full-bodied, supple and elegant Syrah that has no hard edges, integrated acidity and thrilling purity of fruit. A multi-vineyard blend of 63% Syrah, 19% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, and 3% Petite Sirah that was aged mostly in new French oak, it offers up a gorgeously pure array of black raspberry, charcoal, licorice, lavender, and assorted floral qualities on the nose. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru "Les Fremiets" ((92-94ST), 93VN, 92BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby! Knockout high-pitched nose offers blackberry, dark raspberry, spices, licorice, bitter chocolate and violet, plus a note of crushed stone. Silky and highly concentrated, with superb depth of fruit and thrust; brilliant acidity contributes to the wine's vibrant inner-mouth perfume. Finishes with huge, palate-saturating but smooth tannins and a powerful impression of medicinal reserve. 'We had thick skins in 2009 and a great skin to juice ratio,' said Boillot, noting that this wine had the highest pH of any of his Côte de Beaune cuvées, at a low-for-the-vintage 3.4. Built for a long life in bottle. (ST)" (01/2011)

1994 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1994 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe ((90-92ST), 91RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Gingery sweet oak, black raspberry, black cherry and spice on the nose. Dense and firm, with very good concentration. Expressive and enticing thanks to the very ripe Merlot (for the half of the crop that did not go through reverse osmosis, the Merlot was chaptalized just a half degree, vs. two for the Cabernet Sauvignon). Deep and long, with enough acidity to give the wine excellent balance. (ST)" (05/1996)

Of the 2008 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus is a beautifully delineated wine endowed with tons of personality and sheer class. The wine comes alive in the glass, with crushed rose petals, dark raspberry jam, licorice and spices. There is an exotic element to the fruit that is highly appealing. Today the tannins are quite firm, suggesting the wine needs at least a few more years in the cellar. (AG)" (12/2011)

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru (95WE, 92ST, 91BH). Wine Enthusiast: "As befits the most seductive of vineyards, this wine is one that wraps itself around you, a charmer of a wine, but one that still retains some of the elegance of a great Chambolle-Musigny. And just when you think it's all up front, the tannins creep up and promise great aging potential. *Best of 2007, Cellar Selection* (RV)" (03/2007)

2001 Domaine Robert Arnoux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots"
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Robert Arnoux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" (92BH, 92ST, (88-91RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is some bricking at the rim and the now highly spicy if moderately secondary nose is consistent with the bricking. The refined and seductive medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouth feel thanks to the abundant dry extract that coats the palate on the focused if ever-so-mildly drying finish that still manages to deliver very good length. This is really quite attractive even if the balance isn't perfect. Note that this is drinking as well now as it's going to and I would be drinking this up over the next 5 to 8 years as it will like begin a gentle decline. Tasted several times recently with consistent notes.df" (05/2019)

1997 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon (2,800 cases from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc) boasts an opaque purple color as well as a gorgeous nose of mineral-infused black currants, and spicy oak. Full-bodied, structured, muscular, and multi-dimensional, it is approachable, but best cellared for 2-4 years, and drunk over the following 20-25 years. Drink through 2027. (RP)" (12/2000)

1975 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This massive, backward wine appears to resist aging. Still bitterly tannic, impressively-colored (dark garnet with no amber), and monstrous on the palate, this wine will either turn out like the outstanding 1928 and begin to reveal some charm and character around age 40, or it will dry out, much like the 1948. It needs another 5-10 years of cellaring... It is likely to be appreciated only by the most patient Bordeaux enthusiasts. I would not be surprised to see some wine writer touting its greatness around 2025, long after most of it had been consumed and found to be pleasureless. Owners should try not to touch a bottle before 2005. Drink through 2025. (RP)" (02/1996)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (99RP, 98JD, 95WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The kinkiest of the Syrahs is the 2005 Bionic Frog which was made with 25% stems. It was aged in Dominique Laurent barrels, 30% new. Purple/black-colored, it has a sexy perfume of earth notes, mineral, spice box, and blueberry. Layered, opulent, and super-rich, the finish just goes on and on. (JM)" (06/2008)

1995 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 92WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...There are 15,000-20,000 cases of Reserve Cabernet made, and in 1995, a quintessentially elegant style has been produced...It has great promise and raw materials, with superb fruit and richness, medium body, and subtle lead pencil notes to go along with black currant, mineral, and pain grille scents and flavors...still an exceptional California Cabernet Sauvignon made in a compellingly elegant, graceful style. 2000 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Marcassin "Blue Slide Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge, my candidate for a DRC Richebourg on steroids vote, possesses the extraordinary aromatics that this vineyard routinely produces. The blueberry, blackberry, forest floor, mushroom, and gamy notes are all offered in a provocative smorgasbord of aromas. There is tremendous fruit intensity, medium to full body, outstanding acid levels, and a long, textured, spectacular finish. It is a compelling Pinot Noir to drink over the next 7-8 years. 1991 Graham's Vintage Port (375ml)
Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 1991 Graham's Vintage Port (375ml) (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black color, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port. (RP)" (02/1995)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Antinori Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione (95DC, 95JS, 95WS, 94VN). James Suckling: "This is very dense, showing the ripeness of the 2013. 1997 Domaine Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru "Clos"
Bid on this bottle of 1997 Domaine Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru "Clos" ((93-95RP), 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Raveneau's 1997 Chablis Les Clos is undoubtedly grand vin. It offers a plethora of nuanced aromas, including lemons, minerals, flint, clay, and flowers. On the palate, this expansive, powerful, and mouth-coating wine exhibits extraordinary purity to its liquid mineral-dominated flavors. It possesses mind-boggling focus and length. Wines from Les Clos, considered by many to be Chablis' finest vineyard, have a tendency to gain power and body with cellaring. I predict that this presently lace-like yet extremely flavorful and expressive effort will blossom into a wine of considerable depth and richness. (RP)" (06/1999)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Red Blend (97RP, 95JD, 94WS, 93JS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Paderewski Vineyard is a new bottling from a site Smith developed for Bill and Liz Armstrong, the owners of Epoch. Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Mourvedre are planted in separate plots but co-fermented. Layers of dark fruit meld into flowers, mint, sweet spices, menthol, eucalyptus and plums, with marvelous density and harmony. This shows superb aromatic complexity and tons of nuance to match its absolutely striking personality. It is a dazzling effort, especially for a young vineyard in just its third leaf. The blend was 39% Zinfandel, 38% Syrah, 13% Petite Sirah and 10% Mourvedre. (AG)" (08/2011)

1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes (96VN, 94WS). Vinous: "The 1988 d'Yquem is almost identical to the bottle I tasted in 2016. This is almost Barsac-like in style on the nose with scents of barley sugar, complemented by marmalade and mandarin, fresh and vibrant with a palpable sense of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous texture but it is not, and has never been, as unctuous as either the 1989 or 1990. However, what the 1988 does possess is a surfeit of vitality and tension. There are layers of blood orange, quince and marmalade towards the finish that as the aromatics suggest, comes across as quite Barsac in style. Superb. Tasted at Château Batailley. Drink through 2050. (NM)" (05/2018)
