1995 Caperdonich 24 Year Old "Chieftain's" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength Single 2nd Fill Sherry Hogshead Speyside Single Malt Whisky (750ml) (Pre-Arrival)

The enigmatic Caperdonich Distillery is extremely rare. Built in 1897 and named "Glen Grant #2," Caperdonich by J. & J. Grant in the town of Rothes. Only 5 short years later, the Pattison whisky crisis shuttered the gleaming new distillery. It lay dormant for 60 more years before Glenlivet rebuilt it and resumed production. The name Caperdonich, meaning "secret well," was adopted due to new regulation prohibiting multiple distilleries from sharing the same name. It was purchased again in 1977 by Seagrams, who sold it to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod ulti ...

1995 Charles Heidsieck "Blanc des Millénaires" Brut Champagne

95 points Decanter: "The last batch of 1995 was disgorged in summer 2017, after spending 21 years on lees. ‘Jetted’ to revive it after disgorgement, it has a new lease of life. A refreshing young Champagne with pure chalkiness and lemon intensity. Cries out for oysters. (CG)" (07/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep, pure and fresh on the fruit-intense and complex nose, the 1995 Blanc des Millenaires is still young and incredibly fresh on the palate. This is refreshingly pure, concentrated, fruity and perfectly round Champagne that reve ...

1995 Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur Richebourg Grand Cru

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Remarkably dense and spicy for such young vines with real class and length if not necessarily lots of depth of extract. A solid if not spectacular effort that has eaten its considerable levels of new wood that were borderline annoying when the wine was young and the only nit is a touch of dryness on the finish. Tasted twice." (04/2007) K&L Notes: 97 points Wine Spectator: "Total harmony. This sensational red Burgundy is so silky, so well made you can only marvel at its brilliant crafting. 1995 Fleury Brut Champagne Magnum 1.5L

95 points Wine & Spirits: "Rarely has a 1995 Champagne presented itself with the kind of drive and structural power of this Fleury. With acidity that may bring tears to your eyes, this is not for the faint of heart. That extreme acidity tingles in the mouth, leaving flavors of pineapple, caramel candied lime and ginger in its wake. It requires crudo or sashimi—belly tuna would be insanely great with this wine." (12/2010) 95 points Wine Spectator: "There's a pleasing tension to this fresh Champagne, refined in texture and very elegant overall, offering ...

1995 Grand Mayne, St-Emilion

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An unqualified sleeper of the vintage, the opaque purple-colored 1995 Grand-Mayne displays a sweet, creamy, black raspberry-scented nose with subtle notes of smoky, toasty oak. Both powerful and elegant, this wine exhibits layers of richness, nicely integrated acidity and tannin, and an impressive full-bodied, long finish. This offering should be drinkable early, and keep for over a decade. (RP)" (02/1998) 90 points Wine Spectator: "In-your-face aromas of toasted oak, ripe berries and chocolate. Full-bodied, wi ...

1995 Loch Lomond ("All Malt") 22 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $90)

We have two amazing rarities from the reclusive Loch Lomond distillery this year. A unique facility, Loch Lomond makes every type of whisky they need for their blends in house. This means they operate a huge number of stills including multiple column stills and multiple pot stills. They make whisky in damn near every combination from heavily peated single malts to peat free malt and multiple varieties of grain whisky. This 22 year old is technically a single grain, but as grain whisky can be made from any grain, this so happens to be made from malted bar ...

1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Sadly, only about 800 cases of these exquisite Cabernets are produ ...

1995 La Croix du Casse, Pomerol

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An outstanding wine, this dense ruby/purple-colored 1995 offers up a knock-out nose of blackberries, cassis, minerals, and spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, with plenty of pain grille-like flavors and abundantly sweet fruit imbued with glycerin and tannin, this wine possesses a long mid-palate, as well as a finish that builds in the mouth. It is an impressively built, pure, rich Pomerol that merits considerable attention." (02/1998) Wine Spectator: "Decadent funkster of a wine. Dark, inky color. Masses of c ...

1995 Archery Summit Oregon Pinot Noir

According to Pierre Rovani writing for the Wine Advocate: "Gary Andrus, the managing director of this estate, is an accomplished winemaker and a certified bon vivant. A former Olympic downhill skier, Andrus is known primarily for his Cabernet and Chardonnay-producing Pine Ridge Estate in California. He is, however, a devoted lover of Pinot Noir, traveling to Burgundy frequently to taste and purchase wines for his cellar. His tastes seem to have been shaped by his frequent travels to France because his wines are quite Burgundian in nature - graceful, comp ...

1995 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cépages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "A bit pungent and earthy in the aroma, but well-structured, with ripe, firm, vibrant black cherry, mineral, red currant and wild berry flavors that are lively and intense, with a tight focus and a long, complex aftertaste. The wine impresses with its purity of flavors and youthfulness. Shows some tannins on the finish. (JL, Web-2005)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cinq Cepages is tasting even better than it was prior to bottling. 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fun to go back and forth between the 1995 and 1996, two superb vintages for Haut-Brion. The 1995 seems to have sweeter tannin and a bit more fat and seamlessness when compared to the more structured and muscular 1996. Certainly 1995 was a vintage that the brilliant administrator Jean Delmas handled flawlessly. The result is a deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a tight but promising nose of burning wood embers intermixed with vanilla, spice box, earth, mineral, sweet cherry, black currant, plum-like fruit, m ...

The Rare Armagnac Collection is a new small scale bottler seeking to unearth rare and unique Armagnacs from small estates across the region that would otherwise not be available. 1995 Château de Fonsalette "Reserve" Côtes du Rhône

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Chateau Fonsalette Côtes du Rhône is a twenty-year wine that requires 4-5 years of cellaring. It exhibits a black/purple color, good acidity and tannin, a closed, dense, moderately tannic personality, exceptional richness, and a powerful, full-bodied finish. Yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare were slightly higher than the 15-20 achieved in 1996. This is a wine for those who cannot find or afford to purchase Rayas. (RP)" (10/1997)

1995 Graham "Malvedos" Vintage Port

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Superripe, exotic aromas of cassis and woodsmoke. Incredibly sweet and viscous on the palate; very concentrated, deep and strong in extract. A fruit bomb of a single-quinta port. Extremely long and powerful. This can't stand comparison with the great '94 Graham, but on its own it's a compelling and more easily approachable young port. Very concentrated, palate-saturating black cherry and black raspberry flavor. Thick and round but vibrant and delineated. Impressive extract. Explosive finishing fruit goes on and on. 1995 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "First of all, Les Pavots is made in a backward, Bordeaux-like style that does not offer the gush of jammy fruit so noticeable in many California Cabernets. However, this is an authoritatively rich wine overlaid with a structural profile that suggests the wine needs 4-5 years of cellaring - at least in top vintages such as California has experienced in the nineties. Produced from extremely low yields (15-20 hectoliters per hectare), this offering is a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. This wine is a sexy, exotic wine that could be called Spanish Pomerol. The 1995 Crianza (14.6% alcohol) presents a saturated plum color, followed by a knock-out nose of melted chocolate and blackberry fruit, a lush, voluptuous texture, low ...

Reviewed in previous issues, they are even better from bottle than they were during their upbringing (a characteristic of many Guigal wines). The 1995 Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis is the stuff of legends and is every bit as compelling as readers might expect. This single vineyard wine will have at least 15 years of longevity.(RMP)" (10/1999) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's Inte ...

Quinta do Infantado was founded in 1816 in the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro, considered its finest zone for both Port and dry wines, by the Portuguese crown heir D. Pedro IV. 1995 Soutard, St-Emilion

According to Robert Parker: "This is one of the oldest St. Emilion estates and has been owned by the same family since 1785. Situated in the northern part of the appellation, the vineyard is located on a soil base composed primarily of limestone. Soutard is highly prized in the Benelux countries, but the wine has largely been ignored outside Europe. The 1995 La Couspaude exhibits a ripe, jammy kirsch, black currant, and licorice-scented nose with plenty of smoky, pain grille notes.
