1968 Taylor Fladgate "Very Old Single Harvest" Tawny Port

98 points Wine Spectator: "Pretty gorgeous from the get go, with toasted sesame, green tea, walnut husk, pistachio cream and peanut toffee notes seamlessly layered atop each other, framed by a subtle singed alder hint. Everything glides with grace through the finish, like a gently wafting plume of white smoke off of burning incense. 1968 Beaulieu Vineyard "Beaumont" Napa Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 1968 Beaulieu Vineyard "Beaumont" Napa Valley Pinot Noir. It is extremely rare to find a bottle of BV from the time when the de Latour family still owned the estate (it was sold to Heublein Inc. in 1969), and when renowned winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff was still at the helm, having fashioned most of California's best wines of the time. Stephen Tanzer gave the '68 BV Georges de Latour Private Reserve a 98-point score and described it as: "A wine of great class and balance, finishing subtle, fresh, firm and very long, with sweet, fine-grained tannins. André Tchelistcheff called 1968 his greatest vintage and this wine is still going strong a half century later, with no end in sight." (Vinous, 04/2019)
