2016 Kalinda Paso Robles Red Blend

We can tell you this much: our Kalinda private label hooks you up with awesome wine at a fraction of what you'd otherwise pay for this exact same wine under its normal label. While we have to remain quiet about the source of this lovely red blend from Paso Robles, which contains 36% Syrah, 22% Primitivo (Zinfandel), 19% Grenache, and a few other grapes, we can tell you that it sells elsewhere at a higher premium. Get it while it lasts.

2016 Eberle "Vineyard Selection" Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Enthusiast: "Broad aromas of caramelized red cherry and dried herbs make for a pleasantly savory entry to this bottling from the historic estate. There is a solid amount of herbal expression on the palate, where the dried oregano sets off the tangy black-plum flavors. (MK)" (04/2019)

2018 Foxglove Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Vinous: "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles shows just how appealing the vintage is. Aging in steel and bottling early brings out the aromatic, juicy side of Cabernet. The 2016 is not exactly complex, but it is absolutely delicious. It will make a terrific house pour over the next few years. (AG)" (09/2019) K&L Notes: Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for killer values need look no further than this Foxglove releases from Jim and Bob Varner." (JD, 10/2016) Great wines at very good prices. This full-bodied, flamboyant Grenache has no hard edges, offers sweet tannins, and is a complex, impossible to resist red to drink over the coming 4-6 years. The blend is 52% Grenache, 39% Petite Sirah, and the balance Syrah." (11/2018) 93 points Vinous: "Inky ruby. Taut citrus and orchard fruit flavors unfurl slowly and show hints of bitter quinine and anise that build slowly with air. Shows very good depth as well as energy on the finish, which echoes the mineral and citrus fruit notes. 2016 Claiborne & Churchill "Estate" Edna Valley Pinot Noir

Winemaker's Notes: "Looking back on 2016, we’re quickly reminded of the year’s ideal growing conditions whenever we open a bottle of this Classic Pinot Noir. Warm afternoons and cool nights played a big part in providing us with balanced, ripe fruit grown on our Estate Twin Creeks Vineyards. At harvest, we crushed and destemmed the Pinot Noir before cold-soaking it in fermenting bins. This allowed us to extract more color before fermentation starts. As the wine fermented, we performed three punch-downs a day then racked the free run wine into barrel. Aft ...

2018 Field Recordings Blanc de Franc Paso Robles

From winemaker Andrew Jones comes this esoteric delight, a lightly sparkling (and lightly colored) rosé of Cabernet Franc made in the pétillant naturel style. Timing is everything with this wine as it must be bottled and capped with just the right amount of remaining natural sugars to continue fermentation (thus, creating captured carbonation). It's not an easy trick to pull off, but when it goes right, it really goes right.

The texture is grippy with chalk on the palate, offering flavors of strawberry, pluot flesh and a spritz of citrus. (MK)" (06/2019) 91 points Vinous: "Light bright orange. 2017 Field Recordings "PETS" Paso Robles Petite Sirah

Andrew Jones learned to make wine from the ground up. He started as a vine nursery fieldman, planting and planning vineyards for wineries all over California. This gave him firsthand knowledge of nearly every vineyard on the Central Coast and a knack for finding "diamonds in the rough." Meanwhile, he was building friendships with some great California growers, who'd often offer him small lots of their best grapes on the side. From these beginnings he has built a catalog of delicious, affordable wines that hum with personality.

2013 L'Aventure "Estate Cuvée" Paso Robles Red Blend

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The top wine of the estate and a blend that was the reason Stephan left Pomerol, the 2013 Estate Cuvee checks in as 43% Syrah, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot that comes all from his estate vineyard. It's locked and loaded with black and blue fruit, crushed rock, licorice and ground herbs, and I wrote that it seemed like it was filtered through a rocky riverbed in my notes. 2018 Rabble Wine Co. Paso Robles Syrah Rosé

Winemaker's Notes: "Made entirely of Syrah from Mossfire Ranch. This vineyard was planted in 1996 on steep hillsides and a rolling valley at the confuence of sun, snow and sea. The vineyard weathers 40 degree diurnal shifts. The extremity of the climate creates fruit of uncommon concentration and uniform ripeness. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with melting tannins and a pure, juicy, fruit-driven profile. Josh Raynolds writes: "Stephan Asseo has a long and admirable track record for producing wines that meld the elegance of Bordeaux, where he was born and raised, and the ripeness and power of Paso Robles, where he has lived and made wine since 1997. That melding is both figurative and literal, as many of his wines are blends of traditional Bordeaux varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot) and the Rhône varieties (Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre) on which this region’s fame has been built. Today it comes across as rather tightly wound and implosive, although with air the wine’s potential becomes more evident. Dark cherries, licorice and smoke wrap around the intense finish. Full-bodied, but remarkably fresh (thanks to the limestone), it possesses 16+% alcohol, but that component is well-concealed by the wine’s fruit and structure.
