2018 Adegas Valtea Albariño Rias Baixas

Our third vintage of this direct import Albariño, this wine shows everything we like in the grape: hints of lemongrass, lively stone fruit, and a brisk, saline-tinged palate. Located in the sub-zone of Condado do Tea, where the days are a bit warmer and evenings are slightly cooler, there is a wonderful mid-palate presence to complement the typically lean and mineral qualities of Albariño. A classic with any shellfish, especially Dungeness crab!

Marta Castro produces this tasty Albariño from vines located in the Salnes Valley town of Ribadumia, just a bit inland from Cambados. Given 5 months of lees ageing in the tank, this is an albariño with juicy stone fruit flavors, a round texture and well balanced acidity. Delicious, representative and good value in Albariño.

2017 Adegas Valtea "Finca Garabato" Albariño Rias Baixas

Finca Garabato is a parcel of Valtea's oldest wines. You will notice that it says "2o Año" on the label, which refers to the fact that it ages in tank on its lees for a year following fermentation. This gives the wine a lovely richness, which really ramps up the flavor and textural qualities of the wine. Still refreshing, only richer than the regular Valtea bottling and ready to take on a meal.

2017 Pazo de Señorans Albariño Rias Baixas

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Albariño is a rich, medium to full-bodied white that has some serious oomph in its white flowers, stone fruits, and salty, marine-influenced aromas and flavors. Incredibly pure, perfectly balanced, and with a great texture, it’s a naked, raw expression of Albariño that readers should snatch up. (JD)" (04/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "The complex white-peach, gooseberry and floral nose is very enticing and just beginning to open up. Rich, yet sleek and elegant with spot-on balance of fruit, creaminess from yeast conta ...

2016 Do Ferreiro Albariño Rias Baixas

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Méndez family consider 2016 a vintage with some similarities with 2011. I tasted their regular 2016 Albariño, which is produced from a mix of grapes from the 164 plots of vines they work, adding diversity of soils, mostly granite and sand but also red slate, and expositions in the villages of Meaño, Adina, Sisán, Castelo and Leiro. The grapes were picked in five days, starting on September 17th. All wines fermented with a "pied de cuve" from the Cepas Vellas, which fermented the juice from the destemmed grape ...

2018 Fefiñanes Albariño Rias Baixas

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This supple wine has a tangy green-fruit character, like the entire lime, from cool zest and pith to pulp, or crunchy cucumber. Pour it with a tarragon-and-lime-infused prawn ceviche." (08/2019)

Produced from 35- to 60-year-old Albariño vines located in the Salnés sub-zone of Rías Baixas, this is a bright, fresh, focused Albariño. Delicious stone fruit flavors are defined and precise, but also rich and with great volume on the mid-palate. One of our top Albariños for sure.

2018 Terras Gauda O Rosal White Blend

A unique blend 70% Albariño, 22% Caíño and 8% Loureiro. The result of the combination of the grape varieties is striking. This is a wine of great complexity where clear citrus aromas of mandarín and orange peel, peach and aniseed mingle with pleasant undertones of earth, jasmine blosson and bay leaf. Its powerful structure and character are impressive, filling the palate with fleshiness and velvety sensations. At the same time it is fresh, cheerful, and very lively thanks to its excellent acidity, treating us to a pleasant, intense and very long finish. ...

2017 Eladio Piñeiro "Envidia Cochina" Albariño Rias Baixas

92 points Vinous: "Pale, green-tinged yellow. A highly complex bouquet evokes ripe citrus fruits, white flowers, candied ginger and smoky minerals, along with a hint of anise that emerges as the wine opens up. Shows very good depth as well as energy to its sappy Meyer lemon, quince and honeysuckle flavors, which are braced by a core of juicy acidity. Shows sharp delineation and mineral bite on the clinging finish, which leaves a refreshingly bitter orange pith note behind. (JR)" (03/2019)
